That’s why in 2025, MAS Houston Tarbiah is focusing onsystematically tracking our activities and achievements. Through consistent groundwork and structured data collection, we aim to better understand our collective impact and strengthen the chain of accountability within our organization.
Tracking our efforts and engaging self-reflection (muhāsabah) are essential for sincerity and personal development. Allah ﷻ reminds us:
“And let every soul look to what it has sent forth for tomorrow.”(Surah Al-Hashr 59:18)
This verse encourages believers to regularly evaluate their actions. When we record our progress and renew our intentions, we protect our deeds from becoming driven by ego or recognition. Instead, we ensure our work remains united in purpose — avoiding the “every person for themselves” mentality.
In Islam, activism is not only about visible outcomes, but also aboutpurifying the heartand aligning our actions withjustice, mercy, and ihsān (excellence). Through reflection, we identify areas for improvement, renew sincerity, and make our service more effective and impactful.
